Holiday Packing Tips: Clothing to Fit in a Backpack

Guide for Light Packing

When you want to go off traveling and it comes to packing, you need to have a tactical approach.

The main reason people choose to travel with a backpack is simple: it’s easier, lighter and more comfortable. Also, it’s a big relief for many of us to bring only a minimum of belongings.

It’s not easy getting your head around what you really need to take with you.

Deep down you know that over packing is not a good idea, but you still don’t have a clue how to pack only the essentials.

Even if you would like to bring your entire wardrobe, but you are restricted to only your backpack, we hope we can help you out with some advice.

Basic Blue Top & Jacket & Summer Pants

When you choose what clothes you need for your trip, it’s important to not get caught up in what clothes you like the most.

As a main rule, never take anything that can be paired with just one other item of clothing, or could be worn only for a special occasion.

Think multifunctional and pack a tube top that can be worn as a skirt, a light scarf that can be wrapped around your body or a long top that can be used like a dress.

It’s a practical thing to bring clothing that can be easily worn in layers, like leggings, long shirts or a cardigan.

Also, another aspect to take into consideration is picking a color scheme.

Choose a bright primary color, a darker secondary color, and a complimentary color.

The general idea is that the two colors can be the base of your outfits, and the complimentary color can be found in different patterns or in accessories.

Review your choices and ask yourself some questions like:

  • Can almost all my clothes be worn together?
  • What would I like to wear on a casual relaxed day?
  • Will all my clothes fit in the backpack?
