1. Be comfortable

Who doesn’t like to set free the fashionista one has inside? However, a first date might not be the perfect occasion to experiment with your clothes, your hair or your make-up.

Think about it this way. Would you prefer to date a relaxed, carefree and confident fellow, or a guy that is too worried about if all the hairs on his head are in the correct order and harmony? There you go. Choose an outfit that allows you to put all your senses in the current and one-off moment you are living.

Golden rule: don’t wear shoes in which you cannot walk or clothes in which you cannot dance or hard make-up.

2. Be elegant

Pick those clothes that enhance your most powerful features, without trying too hard. For instance, you can combine a top that shows your neck and shoulders (or part of your back) with a pair of good fitting boyfriend jeans. If you are blessed with beautiful legs, you can wear a mini skirt or a LBD (little black dress). In this case, make it sure that you are not wearing a breathtaking cleavage.

And whatever you choose to wear, don’t show all your weapons from the first date! Leave some skin unseen. As the wise sentence goes, let the imagination work.

Golden rule: don’t wear clothes that are too tight or clothes that look too big, just an outfit that enhances your figure without seeming too obvious.

3. Make-up?

The answer is yes, but not too much. It’s all about balance. An excessive make-up could take away the fresh and effortless vibe you want to transmit.

Golden rule: keep a minimal and natural make-up for the first date.

Bonus track: be yourself. There is no magic spell to make a date successful. You don’t need to change your style to adapt it to the person you are aiming for.

An outfit in which you feel comfortable will provide you loads of self confidence, that will translate into having a good time.

What do you like to wear on your first date? Do you have any memorable anecdote involving your outfit? Thoughts!
