Have you created your Google Plus profile and page yet?
Google Plus has over 40 million users, so if you are not there, you should start creating your account now.
Not as famous as Facebook, but still very useful when it comes to engaging people and driving valuable traffic, Google+ is the next big thing in Social Media.
What you probably don’t know yet, if you are not that familiar with Google+, is that it can boost you search rankings, without too much extra work on your side.
By sharing your posts on Google Plus, the search engines will index your content much faster and easier, making your pages rank better.
Here is what you need to know about Google+ if you are a fashion blogger:
1. Create your personal and blog profile on Google+
First, you have to create your personal profile and a Google+ blog page. This works very similar as the profile and page account on Facebook. Having both, you could be able to reach much more people, thus having a bigger audience.
Be sure to list your contact info, a short description and links to your website but also to the other social media networks that you use.
An appealing cover and profile picture will surely get people’s attention, and this is what you want.
2. Google +1’s do matter
You want your audience to click on +1, which is similar to a like Facebook. You also want them to share and recommend the content you posted. You can encourage people on Google Plus to share your content by posting engaging images and by posting your relevant blog posts on your page, profile and the communities that you are part of.
In this way your audience could grow by even 3.5 times, meaning more blog traffic, and more quality conversions too.
3. Join fashion and blogging oriented communities.
Talking about communities, as a fashion blogger you should join communities that are relevant to your interests.
The communities section can be found in the top-left of your profile page. You can enter the keyword you are interested in in the search bar and choose the Google Plus communities that appeal to you.
This is where you can find the Communities tab
4. If you send e-mails to your blog’s subscribers – Google Plus helps with building trust
Google Plus is integrated with all the popular Google services – like Gmail for example. This means that when you are sending an e-mail to your subscribers, they also get the information about your Google+ page.
Instead of seeing some ads, your subscribers will get the option then and there to follow you on Google plus.

A few more tips for fashion bloggers:
- Post frequently on Google Plus, grow your page and share your articles in the communities you are a member of.
- Follow big brands, your favorite shops or other fellow bloggers and interact with their content. This will give you more exposure and maybe even new collaborations.
- Be creative and stand out. This will make your content shareable and increase your conversions.
