Tips&tricks for the best hiking experience

Time for a great adventure!

Spending your weekends hiking it’s really exciting. You’ll get to see magnificent views and you will get to reconnect with the sense of freedom and happiness.

You don’t need to be experienced, just prepared. And to be fully prepared you need to have the best hiking equipment for an unforgettable experience.

Maybe it sounds familiar this episode: it’s early on a chilly Saturday morning. Today you are going on a trekking tour, but if you could just remember where you stashed your backpack. Finally found it? Wait, where are your boots and your waterproof jacket? And where did you put your hiking socks? Oh, just remembered that you have to stop on the road for snacks? It’s past noon already…

If you have gone through it you have to know that this is a great example about how should not be done when deciding to go on a hiking tour. You always need to be organized and have everything prepared. You don’t want to wake up in the middle of wilderness not having your hydration bladder or your boots with you!

Always bring with you water and energy bars. Wear clothes that are comfortable but easy to layer, in order to be ready for any weather. Keep in mind that layering is very important. A thin layer of wool next to your skin will wick moisture away from your skin. You will need a light weight wind-shell, and you should always carry with you a waterproof jacket with hood and trousers. Don’t forget the hat (even in summer) and a good pair of gloves. Sunglasses and SPF are smart choices no matter the weather.

A pair of hiking boots and some walking shoes are essential. They need to be waterproof, protective and should provide support, too. Never buy new boots just before you start your adventure.

When you’re going on a long hiking tour, don’t carry too much. Additionally, you’ll need a backpack that properly fits and a suspension system that can handle your body and the weight you put on it.

Don’t forget to bring a cell phone with you, but remember to set it to vibrate so it won’t bother you or the surrounding wildlife. Maybe you will take some amazing photos, too. In any case, be more focused on connecting with nature. Enjoy the view, look at the mesmerizing colors of the world around you and listen to the sounds of the wildlife.

This sound great, right?

Stop thinking, organize yourself, get your boots and hike into the wild!
