Number one: The cat-eyes of Anna Karina.

1. Even when she walks one would believe that she dances

It was precisely Charles Baudelaire, a French poet, who wrote this verse. If you visit Paris, be prepared to walk, and not few. The French capital is full of streets, boulevards and corners that you won’t be glad to miss because of uncomfortable shoes. One of the essentials of Parisian chic is to feel comfortable. So, why not to let a pair of ballerinas lead your steps?

2. Putting effort in being effortless

Is this witchcraft? No, seriously. Can somebody look cooler and more chic and, in the same time, make you believe that line of ‘I woke up like this’? If we analyze Caroline de Maigret’s style, we will find the following ingredients: natural unmade hair, minimalist cut clothes, discreet make-up. However, we would have to put some effort in building such an impressive basic wardrobe. Regarding our skin and hair, not everybody requires the same type of care. The key is to take care of them so that we preserve their freshness without needing any trick.

3. Like a Rolling Stone

It might sound like an irony to name a British band in this French style little tutorial. However, Paris chic seems to have something in common with the seventies rock and roll airs of the group. Being wild and not caring much about perfection is one of the secrets for being a mythological Parisian creature. This doesn’t mean that you have to be allergic to heels. Jeanne Damas masterfully combines them with soft waived hair and red lips and a contemporary vintage vibe.

In conclusion, there are many types of beauty and styles that attract our attention. Nevertheless, French style has been crowned as one of the most iconic. It is true that almost everything that looks good requires an effort: a nice skin normally has been taken care of. However, it is that natural glow what appeals us about the Parisian girl. To finish with, take note of a few pieces of advice:

a. Put make up on your lips or your eyes, but not both in the same time.

b. Keep a natural hairstyle and be proud of it.

c. Forget about looking perfect.
