Tips & Tricks
If you are not used to wearing classic suits all the time, then knowing how to style them can be a daunting task. Many of the essential rules when wearing a classic suit are unspoken, so you never know if you’re doing it wrong or right. So we took time for you to round up the basic rules in a condensed way so you can easily learn them. Also, if you are a man that is in the process of building an elegant and masculine wardrobe, the good news is that you need only three types of suits.
1. The last button of the suit blazer should be always open
This is a common mistake that most men do when they are wearing a suit, and in our opinion is the worst one.
Never button the last button of your suit blazer, because that exists only for aesthetic purposes.
Most of the blazers are tailored so you will have only the middle button closed.
Just simply ignore the other bottoms, because they are just for style.
Also, when you are sitting down unbutton the blazer, this way you will feel comfortable.
2. The classic suit should always fit
This sounds like a very obvious request but some men sometimes break this essential rule.
Always go for your size, no matter what type of silhouette do you have.
Just because you are a very tall man, that doesn’t mean you need to buy a suit that is two-three size bigger. Instead, look for a blazer, trousers and shirt that look good on your body.
3. Shoes are very important
When you are choosing your shoes you need to pick a pair that complements the color of your classic suit.
You don’t need too much contrast, just go for black or brown leather shoes.
Socks should cover your legs. Avoid white socks.
Make sure that the socks are long enough. The most simple choice is to wear socks in the same color as the suit.
You can also opt for colorful socks, but make sure they are covered by your pants.
